    Supported formats and limitations

Input: MP4, AVI, MOV, MKV, WEBM. Output: MP4. Stabilization can crop or zoom the picture and cannot reconstruct detail lost to motion blur. Strong shake or moving subjects may remain imperfect. Processing requires server support for vidstab, and some source audio codecs may be incompatible with the MP4 output.

Processing runs on the server after you select Start Conversion. The interface accepts files up to 500 MB; service and connection limits can be lower. No installation or account is required. Read our file processing privacy policy.

Starting with an online source? You can download a public source video first before uploading the local file here.

    Smoothing and cropping

Start with the default smoothing value of 10. Higher values can smooth movement more strongly but may crop more of the frame. Compare edges and important subjects in the output before increasing the setting.

    Previewing the stabilized result

The browser can show the original footage before upload. The stabilized preview becomes available only after the server analyzes movement and renders the new video. There is no live stabilization preview.

    Why Use ConvertFast's Stabilize Video?

    • Analyze camera movement before applying stabilization.
    • Adjust the balance between smoothing and edge cropping.
    • Preview the processed MP4 before saving it.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can this fix every shaky video?+

No. Results depend on camera movement and the scene. Stabilization reduces movement but cannot recover detail lost to motion blur or guarantee a perfectly steady image.

Why does the stabilized video look cropped?+

Compensating for camera movement can expose frame edges. Stabilization may crop or zoom the image to keep those edges out of view.

Can I preview stabilization before processing?+

No. You can preview the local source, but the stabilized result requires server-side analysis and is available after processing.

Are videos stabilized locally in my browser?+

No. The selected video is uploaded when you start conversion. The server runs two processing passes and returns an MP4; no installation or account is required.
