Split PDF — Extract Pages or Create Page Ranges
Splitting PDFs allows you to extract specific pages or create smaller documents from a large PDF. This is useful for extracting sections, sharing specific pages, or removing unnecessary pages.
Plan the page ranges first
PDF page numbers in the range field refer to the file’s actual page order, which may differ from printed page numbers shown in headers or footers. Open the source in a PDF viewer, identify the required pages, and record the ranges before starting. Remove password protection first if the source cannot be processed.
How to split a PDF
- Open the PDF splitter.
- Upload your PDF file.
- Enter page ranges (e.g.,
1-3,5,7-9) or select single pages. - Click "Start Conversion" to generate separate PDF files or a ZIP with the extracted pages.

Troubleshooting
- If your PDF is encrypted, first use Decrypt PDF.
- If you need to extract text after splitting, use OCR PDF on the resulting files.

How do I enter ranges?
Use comma-separated ranges such as 1-3,5,7-9. A single value selects one page, while a hyphen selects an inclusive range. After processing, verify that each expected page is present and that no confidential page was included accidentally.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Remove the password first with Decrypt PDF when you know the current password, then return to the splitter.
