Merge PDF — Combine Multiple PDFs into One
Merging PDFs helps you create a single document from multiple files — ideal for compiling reports, combining scanned pages, or preparing a single file for submission.
Common uses:
- Combine chapters, reports, or invoices into a single PDF
- Merge scanned pages into a single document for archiving
- Assemble application materials into one file for easy sharing
Prepare the PDFs before merging
Open each source and confirm that it is the intended version. Check page orientation, page size, password protection, and whether any forms must remain interactive. The tool combines the selected files; it does not rewrite their page content. Rename the sources clearly if their order is easy to confuse.
How to merge PDFs
- Open the PDF merger.
- Upload the PDFs you want to combine (you can upload multiple files at once).
- Confirm the displayed file order and remove any unintended input.
- Click "Start Conversion" and download the merged PDF.
When to merge vs. when to compress
- Merge when you want one logical document from many sources (e.g., report assembly).
- Compress when file size matters after merging — use Compress PDF.
Tips for best results
- Ensure all PDFs are in the correct orientation before merging.
- If you need smaller output size, use Compress PDF after merging.
- Use high-quality scans for OCR or text extraction.
What should you check after merging?
Open the result and verify the total page count, file order, orientation, links, bookmarks, and forms that matter to your workflow. PDFs with different page sizes can coexist in one output, so pages may not have identical dimensions in the viewer.
Is the merged PDF editable?
The output remains a PDF. To edit text and other content, convert a suitable digital PDF with PDF to Word.
